The Mayan Artist Demonstration: "Indigenous Vestures and Weavings" was a great success. This was possible thanks to the support of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.
The event, called "Late Nights" was held on Friday, April 21, 2006, at the Dallas Museum of Art. Attendance was very good and attendees were delighted with such an enriching event. Models ranging between the ages of 3 and 60 displayed an array of typical Guatemalan vestures; spectators gathered to learn more about the weaving techniques from Violeta Gutierrez who flew in from Guatemala for the event.
Mr. Stephen Miller, President of HELPS International gave a presentation about the ONIL Stove and its importance to the Guatemalan indigenous population.
