HELPS' Newest Organizational Alliance:
Royal Dutch Shell PLC is a multinationaloil company of Anglo Dutch origins, which is among the largest energy corporations in the world, and one of the six "supermajors" (vertically integrated private-sector oil, natural gas, and petrol [gasoline] companies.) The company's principal business is the exploration for and the production, processing, transportation and marketing of hydrocarbons (oil and gas). SHELL also has a significant petrochemicals business (Shell Chemicals), and an embryonic renewable energy sector developing wind, hydrogen, and solar power opportunities. SHELL is incorporated in the UK with its corporate headquarters in The Hague, its tax residence in the Netherlands, and its primary listings on the London Stock Exchange and Euronext Amsterdam ("A" shares only).
HELPS International is proud to share our newest alliance with the Guatemalan subsidiary of this significant multinational organization. Mr. Juan Angel Díaz, General Manager of SHELL Guatemala announced the committee's approval late yesterday.
The partnership comes at the initiative of SHELL Guatemala to invest in the improved health, education and economic growth of the rural population. It is also a logical outgrowth of the resources invested in the development of the ONIL stove that has been funded by the SHELL Foundation.
The partnership is effective November 1, 2006. All parties look forward to a long-range and fruitful alliance that will ensure that the work taking place in developing energy-efficient, environmentally friendly and health promotion products will expand into other important areas of mutual interest in Guatemala.
