Guatemala, June 13, 2007: The recently held VII Annual Meeting of First Ladies from Central America, Belize, Panama and Dominican Republic showcased an exhibit of ONIL Products by HELPS International.
Among the colonial ruins in the breathtaking setting of Hotel Casa Santo Domingo, in Antigua Guatemala, the First Ladies, technical delegations, and special guests participated in a two day summit on the subject of Women as Axis of Development through Families and Communities. The focus was to share successful experiences from each delegation as well as to identify areas of overlapping interest and benefits.
HELPS International was invited by the First Lady of Guatemala, Doņa Wendy de Berger, to create an exhibit showcasing the entire ONIL product line. During her presentation, Doņa Wendy presented a summary of her Administration's community development projects, as well as specific references to the ONIL stove and products. Many of the participants seemed to make time to visit the ONIL display, which remained open for the entire duration of the Summit.
Many opportunities were available for the First Ladies and their staffs to ask questions and examine the display, which included working ONIL stove, ONIL water purification filter and ONIL Retained Heat Cooker products. The visitors were treated to fresh tortillas off the griddle, hot fruit toddy and a refreshing glass of pure water.
The First Ladies from neighboring El Salvador and Honduras were particularly intrigued by the prospect of including the ONIL products in their development programs. HELPS International is following up on their requests for further information and technical detail. The First Lady from the Republic of Panama has requested that HELPS International submit a shipping quotation for a total of 100 ONIL stoves, 100 ONIL Retained Heat Cookers and 100 Water Purification Systems. She intends to distribute the ONIL products in each of the rural schools within her education program in rural Panama. |
